Cleveland is busy preparing for your arrival in August at the SPIRE institute. Although June may have been a rainy month, there's no need to have any fear about the weather inside the beautiful SPIRE natatorium. Please take a minute to read through the following newsletter as we will cover additional details surrounding the 2015 U.S. Masters Swimming Summer National Championship.

WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION
|
The USMS website is the location for all official information regarding the 2015 USMS Summer Nationals. The USMS site has the complete meet schedule and will post the latest results. Remember to tell your friends, family, and teammates that the complete schedule, results, and live streaming will be available at usms.org.

Psych sheets and meet rosters are now available.
There are 963 swimmers entered in the meet. The 800 and 1500 freestyle events will be deck-seeded by time (men and women will swim separately). Thanks to the 10-lane competition course, all other events will be seeded by age group (some limited exceptions may apply to swimmers not meeting National Qualifying Times--they may be seeded in heats closer to their seed times). The 200s and 400s will be deck-seeded by age group (men and women separately). All 50s and 100s will be preseeded by age group (men and women separately). REMEMBER ALL EVENTS 200 AND LONGER WILL REQUIRE POSITIVE CHECK-IN. Heat sheets for preseeded events, as well as the estimated timeline, are expected to be posted on the USMS website on or about July 24. Check-in details will be included in future updates (deadlines are posted on the meet page now).
Empty lanes can dampen competitive conditions and we'd like to avoid that when possible. Although we cannot offer any refunds, if you are absolutely certain you will not be swimming certain events (particularly the preseeded 50s and 100s), please let us know and you'll be removed from those events to cut down on empty lanes and provide for more competitive heats. If your travel plans prohibit you from swimming certain events please be considerate and let us know before we seed the meet. Please note that once we take you out of an event, we cannot put you back in. Scratches will be accepted through July 17 (TODAY!).

If you're a coach and can contribute a little time to help all the swimmers during warm-up, the Coaches Committee would appreciate it! A sign-up sheet and more information is available online. You'll receive a free T-shirt and hospitality passes for the days that you volunteer.

There are no new rules regarding swimsuits. If you're wondering if your suit is legal, please check the 2015 USMS Rule Book.

 You don't want to miss out on this year's social event! On Saturday, August 8th, the best of northeast Ohio's wine country will be on hand to sample their wines. Tickets are only $35 and can be purchased on site at the solutions desk. - No outside food or beverage is permitted inside the SPIRE Institute. SPIRE Institute offers a full-service, healthy foods option food court just off the pool deck called SPIRE Fuel. This expansive food court features a soup and salad bar, grill station, pizza and pasta area, breakfast selection, and culinary theater.
- Signage will be hung by facility staff. Please give all signage to facility lifeguards.
- Are your friends or family members interested in volunteering at the meet? Lane timers and deck marshals are needed throughout the weekend to ensure the success of the event. Please sign up online or contact Matt Sajna with questions.

Parking is available on site at the SPIRE Institute parking lot for $10 each day. A weekly pass may be purchased when you check in beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5th. Weekly passes are $40 each. There will be no charge to park for practice and the general meeting on August 5th. Passes may be purchased via cash, credit card, or check. All checks must be made out to the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.
