Insurance Changes for 2014
exclamationpointAt the 2013 USMS annual meeting, we announced that we'll be working with a new insurance broker in 2014 (no longer Risk Management Services, Inc.). The broker has been working on securing our insurance coverage for 2014 and our coverage is now in place.

Some clubs swim at facilities that require them to present a certificate of insurance. The USMS national office will be assuming responsibility for issuing these certificates of insurance for 2014.

We're working on creating a web form where you'll be able to request a certificate. It will be located in the Insurance section of the USMS Guide to Operations. If you need to request a certificate now, please send an email to Tracy Grilli.

Please note the following:
  • Certificates will be issued by national office personnel. It's no longer a fully-automated process as it was before.  Please do not wait until the last minute (such as the Saturday of your swim meet) to request a certificate if your facility has requested one.
  • Please do not contact our previous broker, Risk Management Services, with questions. Direct all insurance questions to Anna Lea Matysek or Tracy Grilli in the USMS national office.
Calendar of Events Updates
CalendarWant to boost participation numbers in the events you work hard to organize? Then make sure your events are listed in the Calendar of Events for 2014Our goal is to make it easy for all of our members to find USMS events wherever they may be taking place, while making it easy for LMSCs to access all the events in their areas. Check it out and add your events!
Elected LMSC Officer Changes

LMSCHas your LMSC elected new officers or appointed people to new positions? Make sure the National Office has these changes. Check your LMSC's officer listings by selecting your LMSC from the list.

If this listing is not correct, report any updates to Anna Lea Matysek at the National Office.

Peer-to-Peer Teleconferences Scheduled

Question MarkAre you embarking on your first year as a Chair or Vice Chair, or have you recently become the Coaches Chair of your LMSC? Got questions?

Perhaps you are an experienced Chair, running a well-oiled machine. Or maybe you're a Coaches Chair with a wealth of ideas and have some of the answers your newer counterparts might need.

Whichever group you fall into, please mark your calendars for our first two Peer-to-Peer Teleconferences in 2014:

  • Thursday, January 23rd: Chair/Vice Chair Teleconference led by Michael Moore
  • Wednesday, February 19: Coaches Chair Teleconference led by Lori Payne

Both sessions will be held in the evening for your convenience.

The LMSC Development Committee is using these monthly Peer-to-Peer Teleconferences to help build a repository of best practices for each of our volunteer positions. Prior to the call, please log on to the LMSC Administration Forum to post questions or topics of interest that you would like covered. We look forward to sharing ideas, answers to questions, and even some brainstorming on aspirations of greatness. Watch your inbox for more details; your Zone Chair will send more information about each call soon.
