by Coach Kenny Brisbin Paddles come in many shapes and sizes. Some paddles come with silicone or rubber straps that hold your fingers and your wrist to the paddle. We ask all of our swimmers on our Grunion team to remove the wrist strap before using their paddles. Why? Because if you have poor stroke technique like low or dropped elbows, the wrist strap allows you to perpetuate that form. Read more...

2013 Pan American Masters Championships
The entry deadline is on April 30, so don't wait to enter. This will be the first time the U.S. has hosted the biennial event. To be held in Sarasota, Fla., Pan Ams will include synchronized swimming, Masters swimming, and open water swimming. To be held June 1-13, 2013, the event is expected to attract up to 2,000 swimmers from around the Western Hemisphere. Event registration is live online at PanAmericanMasters2013.org. Plan to attend this unique event.

High Performance Camp
This outstanding camp is offered to Masters swimmers through the combined efforts of U.S. Masters Swimming, the Triangle Sports Commission, and the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The camp is limited to a small number of dedicated Masters swimmers who are committed to advancing their skills and performance. You'll be taught and analyzed by outstanding USMS coaches and professionals in the fields of sports psychology, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, technique, and resistance and flexibility training. Indy Aquatic Masters
Indy Aquatic Masters is the host of the 2013 Spring Nationals. They are pulling together hundreds of volunteers and swimmers for the event. Their spirit was evident during their Indiana Masters State meet in March.
