Dear HOPE friends and supporters

Welcome to our last newsletter of the year!

You may have noticed that its been a little quiet on the trustee front this year, well here's why...

Jo gave birth to the beautiful Elizabeth Aurora on Saturday 3rd October and Tanya relocated from London to York.

Things have finally settled down and we even managed a trustee meeting last month. Here's what we agreed for 2016:

To continue support of all three main projects on the ground - Sangkheum Centre for Children's newly devised young adult programme, Salariin Kampuchea's intern programme including annual bike ride and This Life Cambodia. For various reasons Grace House will not be continuing with their youth club, therefore we have agreed to support their football season instead.
Meeting an Anjali Young Adult

Since 2008 we've supported over 100 young adults, thanks to your donations allowing them to continue their education, carry out work experience, enter sporting competitions or improve life skills.

It's sometimes difficult to show you the story of our success, but one young adult we are proud to have supported at Anjali House and secured work experience at Soria Moria Hotel has been interviewed giving us all an insight into her success. We are very proud of this success - thank you for helping us make this happen.

2015 Dragon Boat Racing

Our fun(d) raiser for the year was just that, lots of fun but disappointingly we did not reach our fundraising target. If you've still got some money to spare after Christmas shopping it would be great if you add some to the total and the JG page is still open!

Photos of the event can be found on our facebook page.

Once again, our fantastic crew were full of enthusiasm and motivation! Thank you all for your effort and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Talking of next year! We need your help...

Looking for a charity challenge? Is your child's school looking for a project to support? Then we need you, please do get in touch for novel fundraising ideas.
Christmas shopping for a good cause!

Looking for something different to buy your loved ones at Christmas but would like to do good at the same time?

Well here's an idea that ticks both those boxes.

HOPE Trustees have been liaising with the inspirational Alex Angel-Benscher. Founder and Director at Vurchoo Jewellery, who inspired by what he saw and experienced during his travels and volunteering in South East Asia, founded Vurchoo Jewellery.

Its main aim is to provide jewellery filled with emotion and meaning, while at the same time, helping those in need. The good news is a proportion of profits are donated to HOPE and the pieces inspired by pictures drawn by students from Salariin Kampuchea.

Alex was also lucky enough to be sponsored by The Princes Trust who have helped him on this journey.

Drum roll please... Finally we are absolutely delighted to announce that TLC have won a prestigious award for their hard work. TLC have always impressed us with their professionalism and commitment and we knew they were a great partner to work with.

The Stars Foundation has selected This Life Cambodia for an award of $50,000 and 2 years of capacity building support. Describing This Life Cambodia as "a dynamic and ambitious organisation with strong values at its core, focusing on community-led and evidence-based approaches".

Well after all that good news all that is left is to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and healthy new year!

We shall be in touch again in the new year, but please get in touch if we can help with any exciting 2016 fundraising ideas.

With very best wishes
Tanya and Jo
