 Huge recall just announced!
Normally, I only send out monthly newsletters. I respect your desire to not be inundated with email. However, when a recall like this one comes around, I can't remain silent.
Per Susan Thixton of "The Truth About Pet Food":
In a press release issued by Natura Pet Food today, "the company is recalling all lot codes, all sizes, all UPC's of Innova, Evo, California Natural, Healthwise, Karma, and Mother Nature pet foods and treats."
That's right, folks: All lots & all sizes of all Natura foods & treats are recalled due to possible salmonella contamination. But don't panic.
If you feed your pets this food, just get another quality diet with the same grain & protein ingredients as your current diet. "Wellness" is an easily found, quality diet with many varieties available. So you should be able to match current ingredients easily. Why is this important? It makes switching diets go smoothly, and it reduces the chance of allergic reactions to the new food.
Take about a week to gradually switch from your pet's current food to the new one, decreasing the old & increasing the new as you go. Watch your pet's stools, if they loosen, switch slower. As always, consult with your vet regarding any diet changes or health questions. I'm merely providing this common sense advice to get you started on the switch asap, if this recall affects your pet.
