Q&A: Estimating costs for work in winter weather
Members Ask, SEAA Answers. SEAA Member American Erection LLC, Pittsburgh, Pa., recently asked, "How can steel erectors accurately estimate costs for mobilizing and performing erection work during winter months? 

It's important to demonstrate how increased costs and decreased productivity may affect the proposal when estimating and bidding jobs that will take place during cold and inclement weather.

IPAF to Hold Regional Meetings Open to Aerial Work Platform Users
A new series of regional events, hosted by The International Powered Access Federation, will take place in various locations around the United States to provide educational and networking opportunities for users of Aerial Work Platforms. 

The Jan. 22, 2015 meeting in Chicago will address fall protection, industry standards, equipment selection, and other topics. A meeting is also planned for March 12, 2015 in Houston, Texas. More
Association of Equipment Manufacturers Releases Crane Safety Video and Manual
Available for purchase through the AEM Store, new safety materials include recent changes in crane regulations. Crane industry experts working through AEM's Crane Technical Committee (CTC) provided content development and review. Certified trainers from the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) demonstrated best practices in the DVD. More
