Cives Steel Selected to Supply Carty Generating Station
Abeinsa EPC recently selected the North-West Division of Cives Steel Co., Idaho Falls, Idaho, as the successful bidder for the supply of structural steel at the Carty Generating Station project in Boardman, Ore. The 1,600 tons of structural steel for this combined cycle facility was awarded, in part, based upon North-West Division's ability to support the project's aggressive schedule demands.

The new 440-megawatt, natural gas-fired Carty Generating Station will be built for Pacific Gas and Electric. It will be capable of producing enough electricity to serve about 300,000 residential customers. PGE will own and operate the new facility, which is scheduled to be online in 2016. The project will create up to 500 jobs during construction and about 20 full- time positions when operating.
