Artistic Journeys 2012

CreateNow's most popular program is Artistic Journeys. Last year, 2,376 of the most troubled youth in Southern California had the chance to experience free concerts, plays and special
events at premiere venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Pasadena Playhouse, Geffen Playhouse, the Broad Theatre and many more, including Cirque du Soleil.
Cultural excursions expose disadvantaged children to the arts, while providing them with joy and relief. Studies prove that these outings help youth to develop communication skills, physical dexterity, mental concentration, discipline, imagination and creativity. Other research shows that exposure to the arts greatly enhances mathematical and literacy skills in youth.
Many of the kids we serve are scared to venture out into the world because of experiencing abuse and neglect. However, our partners tell us that after attending CreateNow field trips, their youth are more focused and able to concentrate longer.
The kids make cards and thank you letters for our donors, so they get to use their creativity while learning how to express gratitude, and ticket donors can experience the impact of their contributions. It only costs $3 to send a child on a cultural excursion. Click here to donate and give the neediest youth the delight of Artistic Journeys.
