Outdoor Music Season Winds Down
Hard to believe we're already down to our last three Sundays of live outdoor music at the Rookery. But the good news is they're three you're not gonna wanna miss!
And who better to start the countdown to autumn than Molly and The Danger Band? And true to form, it's looking as though Ms. Molly and the boys will be bringing some marvelous weather along with them. The cool dampness of the past few days is forecast to shift to mid-70s and partly cloudy just in time for their performance. It never seems to fail. The Danger Band's September closing gig at the Rookery always turns out to be one of the most gorgeous Sundays of the year!
But this year there's one slight difference. And how lucky for you! Because this time around The Danger Band is NOT our final act of the season. So when you come out for an amazing day of live outdoor music tomorrow you needn't kick yourself for waiting until the end...and then wishing for more. Because there's more to be had! Next up? Similar Dogs on September 25. A great duo from Superior/Poplar who first appeared on our outdoor stage last month as a replacement band when we had to shuffle our schedule a bit due to a cancellation. Performing a "diverse repertoire of music they dig," Similar Dogs were so much fun we called 'em right away when we had another cancellation. And then wrapping up our season...this year on the first Sunday of October...will be the very talented Chequamegon Bay duo of Bruce Bowers on fiddle and Ric Gillman on 12 string guitar. Performing shoeless as usual (we presume) as Barefoot Wonder. Obviously we'll be hoping for another warm Indian summer day!
It has been another wonderful summer of live outdoor music at the Rookery. We've hosted 22 performances already. And now there are just three more to go. We hope you'll come out to enjoy them all!
