Final Friday of Live Outdoor Music
It's here already! Our final Friday evening of live outdoor music at the Rookery for 2016. And who better to close things out than Sean & Ian Okamoto, the popular father/son local duo who kicked off this summer's music series way back on Sunday, June 19.
Sean, of course, also doubles as the lead guitarist for Molly and the Danger Band. Or as Molly likes to call him, "the best Japanese guitar player in all of NW Wisconsin!" And as they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Because Sean's teenage son, Ian, is a musical virtuoso in his own right, both vocally and on keyboard. Together they offer a great combo of contemporary music (Ian's influence) and golden oldies (Sean's era).
The duo has developed a very loyal following throughout NW Wisconsin. Come see why tomorrow evening (Friday, 5-8 PM).
Sunday Music Continues for Another Month
And this week we welcome back for just the second time The Brothers Burn Mountain from just north of Duluth. This unique duo of brothers Jesse and Ryan Dermody played to great reviews when they first performed on our outdoor stage earlier this summer. Their music is eclectic and a bit hard to describe. Here's how two music critics who laud their artistry have tried:
"The phrase, 'I'm just a vessel' is used a lot when I ask artists about where their music comes from, and while the Brothers Burn Mountain never simply said that, I don't think it could be any more true for them. Their music is alive - it's a breathing force that you can feel. The music is all around them, in everything they see. They absorb it and appreciate it and it becomes a part of them that then flows out with no thought process or agenda - true musicians, true artists." - Doug MacRostie from KAXE.org
"Talented musicians whose palette of aural shades and hues is so varied that they really are unclassifiable." - John Ziegler, The Duluth News Tribune
It's shaping up to be another great weekend for live outdoor music at the Rookery, with absolutely beautiful weather forecast for both Friday evening and Sunday afternoon! We hope you'll join us for one or both performances.

After 6 PM all outdoor dining is first come first served, or you can call in advance for reservations to dine indoors.
On Sundays we feature a special patio grill menu. The grill fires up at 1:30 and the music begins at 2. All seating and dining is first come first served so we recommend you arrive early to secure your spot!
