Week #3 of Live Outdoor Music
Last weekend was another great one for live outdoor music at the Rookery. At least a hundred people turned out to enjoy Molly and the Danger Band on a second consecutive gorgeous summer Sunday afternoon. And right now the forecast is looking darn good for our third wonderful weather weekend in a row!
We know how many of our guests enjoy coming out to hear Molly and the boys perform at the Rookery. We've even heard from several of you who also saw them play the day before and/or afterwards at other local venues. And don't get us wrong. We love 'em as much as you do. Which is why they'll be coming back here two more times yet this summer.
But here's the thing. We take great pride at the Rookery in introducing our guests to memorable NEW experiences as well. Whether it's a first time fish special, or a first time performer on our outdoor stage. And this summer's calendar features our best ever lineup of great musicians. Many of whom you might never have the opportunity to see elsewhere in our area.
So be adventurous. If you love live music and want to see it continue at the Rookery then come check out an artist or two this summer whom you've never seen before. And what better way to start than by helping us welcome a first time performer to our outdoor stage this Sunday.
Tim Fast is a Twin Cities acoustic guitarist who performs contemporary originals. According to his bio, "Fast could be a character in one of the gems-of-a-song he writes and sings. He's a dust-covered man who has traveled the roads in search of whatever song is over the next rise. That sense of adventure has given him a catalog of great original songs that have touched audiences from coast to coast and all the way from his native Minnesota down to the Texas Gulf Coast.
"Tim's talent has been recognized by his peers. He's studied with some of the greats of contemporary acoustic music, including David Wilcox, fellow Minnesotan Pat Donahue, Kathy Mattea, Johnsmith and Ellis Paul, to name a few. Cliff Eberhardt was so impressed with Tim that he asked him to tour with him as his opening act. Eberhardt saw what audiences have long seen: that Tim has a dazzling repertoire of original songs that leave people humming and thinking - and ready to join him on his journey to see what's over the next rise."
As usual our patio grill fires up at 1:30 and the music begins at 2. And while we now have outdoor seating for nearly 100 people, it's all first come first served. So plan to arrive early to secure your spot!
