Springtime(???) at the Rookery

Spring certainly seems to have sprung here in the Northwoods. From subzero temps just 10 days ago to highs in the upper 50s forecast through the rest of this week. The snow is melting quickly and should be nearly gone by the weekend. Could we possibly be in store for an early summer? Certainly we deserve it after the past few years. Yet it's still nearly two months before we received that huge dump of late season snow last year in May. So knock on wood and don't count your chickens!

If nothing else the weather this week has us eagerly looking forward to another summer of live outdoor music at the Rookery. We're already lining up performers for our series of 16 Sunday afternoon concerts. And once again Molly and the Danger Band will be kicking things off on Sunday, June 14.

Plus this year we're planning to step things up a notch with TGIThursdays. Even more live outdoor music every Thursday evening (5-8 PM) from July 2 thru Sept 3, including our full dinner menu (and maybe more) served outdoors.

It's gonna be a great summer at the Rookery! We'll commence our 7 nights a week dining schedule on Tuesday, June 16. In the meantime, the Rookery will continue to be open 5 nights a week, Thursday thru Monday, all the way through what hopefully will be an awesome spring in the meantime.

The Rookery is one of the few restaurants in the area committed to being open so extensively through what traditionally is one of the quieter times of year here in the Northwoods. We'd love to see you at some point to help demonstrate it's not an entirely crazy notion!

Introducing Rookery Realty

Many Rookery guests may not be aware that owner Bill Brakken has been a licensed real estate salesperson for the past five years. During that time he was affiliated with another local real estate brokerage on a part-time basis. But over the winter he earned his own Wisconsin broker's license and launched Rookery Realty.

It was a natural evolution, since Bill meets many guests through both the restaurant and Cable Nature Lodge who are interested in someday owning vacation or retirement property in the area. He realized many of the same guests who count on the Rookery to be their best dining experience in the area might also be inclined to trust him when it comes time to purchase their dream home.

Hopefully the same holds true when one of our regular Rookery guests decides it's time to sell their property. Much as he'd hate to lose a great restaurant customer, Bill believes he can help on the real estate end as well. Because if you're looking to sell your home, just remember. Your best prospects dine at the Rookery!

So talk to Bill if you're looking to buy or sell property in the greater Cable, Hayward, or Clam Lake area. And be sure to ask him about the $100 Rookery gift card you can receive simply for listing your property with Rookery Realty or engaging Bill to be your buyer's agent.
