It's Birkie Week in Cable & Hayward And the Rookery will be open beginning on Wednesday Birkie week always is the busiest of our winter season. So be sure to call ahead for reservations. Especially Saturday after the race, of course. But Thursday typically is just as lively. After all, there will be 20,000 people in our area over the weekend. And most of them arrive early to train on the Birkie trail Thursday before taking a rest day on Friday. So please don't assume you can just walk in and be seated without a reservation because it happens to be a weeknight. Seriously folks! In fact, the Rookery generally is so full on Thursday evening that this year we're making a special exception to our normal winter hours and opening a day earlier than normal, on Wednesday as well during Birkie week. And this year, in addition to our special pasta and protein Fresh Fish UN-Fry beginning on Thursday, we'll also be featuring a pasta special on Friday evening guaranteed to improve your Birkie time. Chef Jenny's own classic lasagna. Plus a vegan version with zucchini, spinach, and mushrooms. So please don't forget to credit the Rookery for your great success on race day! |
