Barefoot Wonder
Ric Gillman, Madeline Island, WI
Bruce Bowers, Washburn, WI
It's 2 for 1 this Sunday at the Rookery! Two of the Chequamegon Bay area's finest musicians. One great performance. Together on our outdoor music stage.
If you're a regular visitor to the Lake Superior Big Top Chautaqua you'll no doubt recognize the name, Bruce Bowers. But not only is Bruce the talented fiddle player for the Blue Canvas Orchestra, the Chautauqua house band. He's also the father and occasional musical duo partner of Yazmn, a frequent performer on the Rookery stage. In that capacity he's already performed here twice this summer.
This weekend Bruce returns to the Rookery with his friend and fellow artist Ric Gillman, an amazing 6 and 12 string guitarist from Madeline Island. Ric has recorded, played, and toured with some of the music industry's best regional and national talents.
Ric and Bruce began their musical partnership just last summer. And one of their very first performances together was right here at the Rookery. As for the duo's chosen name, Barefoot Wonder? Well, you'll just have to show up this Sunday and check out the why for yourself.
As always the Rookery grill fires up at 1:30 and the music begins at 2. There's no cover charge though gratuities for the musicians are most appreciated.
Ric Gillman & Bruce Bowers as Barefoot Wonder. This Sunday. Live. Outdoors. Only at the Rookery!
Last Saturday for Lunch
While the Rookery's Sunday afternoon music series and patio grill menu will continue on right through the end of September, the upcoming Labor Day weekend marks our final lunch service on Saturday. 11:30 to 2:30. We hope to see you then!
Meanwhile the Rookery will continue to be open 7 nights for dinner all the way through October 14. After that date we'll resume our Thursday thru Monday schedule once again until next summer (with the exception of being open nightly between Christmas and New Year's Eve).
