A Note from the Production Manager

Kate Ritger

Happy Summer!

We've been preparing the soil, planting, watering, mulching and weeding. The crops have been growing! We've been cleaning the barn (below, left) and even putting in a new entrance ramp (below, right)!

It's time to start the harvest!  Our first distribution will be Thursday, June 18th.

4-6pm at the garden (see directions below)

5-6pm at St. John's Episcopal Church in St. Cloud

Please bring a bag or box to carry your vegetables home.

Watch for our email newsletter next Wednesday for recipes, the harvest list and greetings from the garden.

If you miss Thursday pick-up, come to the garden on Friday between 8:30-5. The barn will be set-up for self-service with directions and your vegetables packed and ready to go. If you need to make other arrangements, call Kate at 262-339-7737.

Above you can see some of the produce. From left: Tokyo bekana lettuce; Siberian kale; pac choi

Directions to the barn:

The garden is on the west side of the property of Saint Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph. Enter from Minnesota Street onto the College of Saint Benedict's North Entrance (near 3rd Ave NW). At the stop sign, turn right and stay to the right on the gravel road out to the big yellow barn.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

CGG logoCommon Ground Garden is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, where members purchase a share of vegetables and each week during the farm season receive a bountiful box of fresh produce. We pride ourselves on producing fresh, clean, healthful food picked at the peak of flavor and nutrition. As much as we are able, we grow our vegetables without the use of any chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. We use cover crops, rotations, compost and ingenuity to produce your food in a way that's healthy for you and for the community. When necessary for pest control or to combat disease, we use only products approved for organic gardening.
