Safe Housing and Stable Neighborhoods Top City Council Agenda this Fall

Vacant property maintenance, lawn care, nuisance properties, and the creation of a special housing commission all are part of the City Council's efforts to improve the safety, stability, and quality of life in Providence. The Council's goal is to ensure safe housing for all residents, and promote stable, vibrant neighborhoods that reflect the dynamic people who live, work, and visit here.

This special issue of the Docket features the housing-related policies and ordinances the Council will be considering throughout the fall and winter. Your ideas and feedback are welcome. Please email us at council@providenceri.com.

The Council is currently considering an ordinance which would establish a Vacant & Abandoned Property Database, which the City would use to keep track of such properties and ensure that they are properly maintained and secured.
