Dear Members, Volunteers, Parents, Alumnae, and Friends of GSEP,
It's 5:30 am on a Saturday morning. It's dark and chilly, but the excitement in the air is electrifying and contagious. Girls finish up stretches, tighten swim caps, and give final waves to excited and anxious parents. Making their way to the swimming pool, they take a deep breath and dive into their first triathlon. . .
WOW! If you were as lucky as I was to witness the inaugural Girl Scout Triathlon/Duathlon last Saturday, then you know just how extraordinary the event was. Here at GSEP, we strive to give our girls opportunities to try new things, explore new worlds, and push themselves hard. That's EXACTLY what 122 remarkable Girl Scouts did on June 14 at French Creek State Park!
Each girl gave it her all and pushed herself across the finish line. Even though most girls participated as individuals, the event was a team effort from start to finish. From the sidelines, they were together cheering each other on, exemplifying the sisterhood of Girl Scouts: every stroke, peddle, and step of the way. . . And it was a LONG way!
Congratulations to every girl who participated. What remarkable athletes you are! And an enormous thank you to each parent, family member, and volunteer who came out to show support and help these girls to meet the challenge, realize their potential, and experience that strong sense of accomplishment! We could not have done this without you!

And, start your training now. We can't wait to see you at the starting line next year!
Yours in Scouting,
Natalye Paquin
