Our wonderful Garbage Art Show was a great way to celebrate Earth Day! Holmes students displayed creativity and resourcefulness by using an array of recyclable materials including plastic bottles, lids, metal cans and scrap paper (to name a few) to create amazing art. We've included pictures of some of the work displayed. See if you can figure out what materials were used for each. (Slideshow may take a few seconds to load).

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As a parent, you play a critical role in starting the conversation with your child about mental health and wellness. If you notice your child feeling hopeless, overly worried or losing interest in things they used to enjoy- talk with them about what you're observing. Listen without judgment and ask what you can do to help. Please join us for a free screening of "No Letting Go" on Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:30 pm at the Darien Library. After the film there will be a Q&A with writer/producer Randi Silverman. The film is based on Silverman's own experience coping with her son's mental health disorder. The film is appropriate for middle and high school students
