Economic Spotlight: ENTREPRENEURS & GROWTH
EDC's 17th annual economic development luncheon on May 13th at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge saluted the ingenuity, business acumen, and leadership of keynote speaker Phil Morse, founder of NAMIC U.S.A. Corp. in Glens Falls, a manufacturer of medical devices that is now part of the AngioDynamics family of companies. Over 280 attendees listened intently to entrepreneur and philanthropist Phil Morse's talk about his journey to success. Students from area high schools including Glens Falls, Queensbury, Warrensburg and SUNY Adriondack business students learned about the reality of doing anything you want if you put your heart and soul into it as stated by Mr. Morse who is a perfect example of that. Other speakers included Jim Siplon, EDC Board Member/Chief Operating Officer, JUST Beverages, LLC; Dan Stec, New York State Assemblyman; John Strough, Warren County Board of Supervisors/Supervisor, Town of Queensbury; Andrew Meader, Member Capital Region Economic Development Council/Director of Corporate Alliances Six Flags Great Escape; Charles Barton, EDC Past Chair/Chief Operating Officer, Barton International along with Edward Bartholomew, Esq., EDC President & CEO. At the beginning of the event Ed Bartholomew introduced Tori Riley, the new President & CEO of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Hyde to Present Christo & Jeanne-Claude: The Tom Golden Collection
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Hyde Collection is pleased to present an exciting, wide-ranging exhibition of works by renowned artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The show, which spans the Museum's Charles R. Wood Gallery and its newly-renovated Whitney-Renz Gallery, includes 123 original drawings, sculptures, collages, and photographs that capture the versatility, longevity, and international scope of the duo's extensive career. Christo & Jeanne-Claude: The Tom Golden Collection opens to the public on May 15 and continues through June 26.
