EDC On the Move - Among some recent activities

Talking Business - EDC President Ed Bartholomew and recently named interim Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO George Ferone shared lunch and ideas for collaborative opportunities at Samantha's this week. EDC welcomes George to his new role and pledges to find ways EDC can complement chamber goals and initiatives going forward.

EDC President Ed Bartholomew gave a presentation Wednesday evening at SUNY Adirondack to instructor Mark Westcott's Business Plan Development class. Topics Ed touched on included his insights into local economy and also how loan programs offered via LDC's and EDC can assist businesses fill "gaps" in funding for capital projects, equipment and in some cases working capital.

EDC is continuing to meet with area officials regarding the hot topic of rural broadband/cell access and capacity in Warren County.  EDC is advocating for expanded funding opportunities for unserved and underserved areas within Warren County at both NYS and federal government level.

2016 EDC Economic Outlook featured speaker NYS Business Council President Heather Briccetti toured the new JUST Water packaging facility on Broad Street last week. Ms. Briccetti met with plant general manager Jim Siplon and told EDC she was very impressed with both the business plan presentation and the adaptive re-use of the former church into a production facility now back on the tax rolls.
