Glens Falls Seeks $200,000 Job Training Grant
 
City officials are seeking support from state and federal legislators for an application for about $200,000 in federal Environmental Protection Agency funding to continue the city's environmental remediation job training program, said Edward Bartholomew, president of EDC Warren County at a recent meeting of the Glens Falls Industrial Development Agency, Greater Glens Falls Local Development Corp. and Glens Falls Civic Development Corp.

Federations Returning to Glens Falls

The New York State Federation of Secondary School Athletic Associations (NYSFSSAA) announced that its Basketball Tournament of Champions will start a three-year term at the Civic Center in 2017. The Federation Tournament had left Glens Falls in 2010 to be held in Albany.

New Triple Chair - West Mountain

EDC WARREN COUNTY CONGRATULATES WEST MOUNTAIN on unveiling of the new "West Express" triple chair lift.
  

Congratulations to West Mountain for a rousing kickoff ribbon cutting event held at the ski area on Friday December 4th. EDC attended along with a host of elected officials, dignitaries, business executives as well as neighbors and local ski enthusiasts. Co-owner and operator of West Mountain Spencer Montgomery delivered a welcome message plus outlined details on the mountains latest game changing improvements including a new triple chair lift, snowmaking and energy efficient LED lighting to enhance West's signature night skiing capability. Total investments for the latest upgrades were approximately $2.5 million.
