Timely Tips December 2014:

A Single-Sentence Timely Tip That Will Fundamentally Change Your Relationship With Your E-mail

*Plus, info on next week's Smart Phone Success and Terrific Tablets webinar and even more streaming program options
December 2014

I know everyone is crazy busy this time of year -- I know I am -- so I thought I would try something new:  a Timely Tip that is only one sentence long.  I've been pondering this idea for some time now, and I actually do believe this one simple act/habit could fundamentally change your relationship with your e-mail and simultaneously enhance your productivity while reducing distraction.

Now, as you read this single sentence, I want you to think about a couple things that it implies:
1.  You actually have/create a prioritized daily task list each day;
2.  You are not checking e-mail every couple of minutes, but instead on some form of a time-based e-mail management regimen

So, with this being the case, here is my one sentence Timely Tip for you to enlist/embrace/endorse/encourage:

This Month's One Sentence Timely Tip to Put Your E-mail in its Proper Place and Priority
This is where you can always find your Timely Tip.

Every time you check your e-mail inbox, also refer to your prioritized daily task list -- this will put your e-mails in their proper priority.

(Do me a favor -- pause and ponder this idea for a moment.)
NEXT WEEK:  Webinar on 12/16 1:00 EST
Smart Phone Success & Terrific Tablets!

You still have a chance to head into the holidays ready to set up your phones and tablets for true productivity, download a ton of apps, and start off 2015 ready to use your phones and tablets to get tons done!

Just go here to my new Online E-Learning Academy page, and click on the Smart Phone Success webinar icon to learn more.

And I have priced this one at a smart phones-friendly $49 -- $50 off my normal webinar program pricing.

(And YES, this would make a great gift for that "impossible-to-buy-for" techie on your list, as well as a great way to use up any remaining training dollars in your budget for 2014!)

Are you a leader of a member group, association, or an author/expert with a large database?  If so, send me a note on how you can promote this same webinar and my other streaming programs to raise revenues risk-free for your organization.

********
I will tell you this -- if the weather forecast holds and it reaches the mid/upper 40's this weekend up here in the great white north, I'll be out golfing.  Yes, golfing -- in December -- in Michigan.  (It does happen now and again.)  Have you ever seen my list on my smart phone in Evernote telling me which club to hit???

I will likely send one more communication to all of you prior to the end of the year.  I've been cooking up something else in addition to my streaming programs and webinars -- how about a new live program/webinar/daily coaching program on how to reduce your distractions and find your focus and productivity?  Look for more info on this soon (although you can get a hint if you read this info release closely):  http://www.randalldean.com/RD_Streaming_Program_Info_Release.pdf

Hope you have a quiet last couple of weeks in the office before your holiday break.

Sincerely,

Randy Dean

App of the Month

       Shush

Shush -- available on GooglePlay.

It is almost the holiday season -- time for family dinners, holiday movies, and other events where a ringing phone can be both embarrassing and disruptive. And also, what about a meeting in the office too?

But also, have you ever turned off your ringer for a meeting, forgot to turn it back on after the meeting, and missed an important phone call?

Shush is a very simple app that senses when you turn your ringer off, and then automatically asks you how long you'd like it to stay off -- til the end of that movie, that meeting, that family dinner.

I love apps like this -- simple but VERY useful idea.

Now, iPhone users -- you can get a similar experience if you simply open your Settings and turn on the Do Not Disturb option.  (Although the app would be better.)
