May 2014

Hi Everyone!

I'm sending this out to the larger group, including a few non-subscribers to Timely Tips (send me a note if you'd like to fully subscribe), to let you all know some important news: I have been a busy bee this month!  It took me a little bit of time, but I now have posted the streaming replays of my two recent public webinars:  Taming the E-mail Beast Using MS Outlook AND Gmail (100+ minutes of strategies and tips) and Optimizing Your Outlook: Managing Your Time/Calendar, Projects/Tasks, People, Ideas, and Even Your E-mail Using MS Outlook (90+ Minutes).  You can now purchase these replays for individual streaming on your laptop/workstation through BizYeti.com -- here is my catalog page on BizYeti:  http://randydean.bizyeti.com

You will see that I have even posted a slightly older Taming the E-mail Beast session from when I was still using Outlook 2007, which may be valuable for those of you that are still running Outlook 2007.

Notice that I give discounted per-person pricing if you want to purchase a license for multiple individuals.  If you do, please contact me in person at randy@randalldean.com so we can discuss the logistics of getting this file available in streaming format on each of the people's computers.  (And if you want to discuss even larger groups, also contact me for even more deeply discounted per-person pricing, as well as possibly hosting the replay file on your own company intranet.)

Also, if you would like to purchase both replays -- Taming the E-mail Beast AND Optimizing Your Outlook, please send me a note at randy@randalldean.com, and I'll personally give you a $50 discount on the total cost of the two programs together.

I hope to be posting even more programs in live webinar and streaming replay formats in coming months -- watch for more info soon.

Another VIDEO TIP:  My Favorite Views in the Outlook Task Function
This is where you can always find your Timely Tip.

To give you just a little sampling of the kind of material I cover in my full Optimizing Your Outlook webinar program, I created a brief YouTube video that covers my favorite views in the Outlook Task function (and how to use them to better manage your day, your projects, and your people.)  Here's the link to the new video tip:

I'll probably post even more video tips through the summer, showing deeper capabilities inside of the Outlook Task function, some of my favorite Calendar tips, and even some tips on using similar tools in the Gmail/Google Productivity Suite.  Look for info on those in future Timely Tips.

I will likely host a webinar on Smart Phone Success/Terrific Tablets sometime in June/July -- date to be determined

Just wanted to give you a "heads up" that I'll likely be hosting a program on really amping up your productivity with your smart phone/tablet devices late in June or sometime in July.  I have a few client events that are in the process of scheduling right now, but once those have been fully scheduled, I'll send out a notice of a date for this event.  Watch for this soon!

Yes, I'm pretty busy, but I want to keep getting these programs available to you by taking advantage of the latest in real-time streaming technology.

Keep learning, and ...

Until next month, Stay Timely!

Sincerely,

App of the Month

Doodle

Doodle -- available both on ITunes app store and  Google Play

I have actually used the Doodle web site before for one of my clients -- it is a tool that allows several people to all quickly find agreeable meeting times, especially if you are trying to find an agreeable time for people that work for different organizations (and thus no shared access to each other's calendars.)

Doodle now has an app for both IPhone and Android (the Android app is a paid app, but one the page listed above they also mention a free Android mobile web site version too.)

A side benefit to using this app:  you won't be sending 37 e-mails back and forth trying to find mutually agreeable times, thus reducing your e-mail overload!

The web site is also highly useful:
