From Compliance to Security- Part 2 by Carol Woodbury
Co-founder, President & CTO, SkyView Partners, Inc.
Last month I discussed the tide shifting from organizations being focused solely on compliance to understanding the need to focus on the risk associated with access to their data and applying the appropriate controls to protect this vital corporate asset. I described the issue of recognizing the risk. So the next step in the process is analyzing the risk.
Again, I want to remind you of what we're analyzing. The risk I want you to analyze is the risk to data being modified or deleted - accidentally or on purpose - as well as the risk of it being read by the wrong person.
In this second newsletter in a series where I describe the movement from compliance to security, I'm going to discuss - determining the risk and what you should do.
