Dear Yavneh Family,
This week's final tally from the North Texas Food Bank:
5 Pallets
300 Boxes of Non-Perishable Food
7,500 Pounds
2,100 Families in Need
At Yavneh, we take advantage of the intermediate days of Sukkot (Chol HaMoed in Hebrew) to reach beyond our normal routines, and to access some of the cultural, educational and service-learning opportunities available in our DFW community.
On Monday, our students traveled to Fort Worth, lunched in the Chabad sukkah there, and enjoyed the acclaimed IMAX Jerusalem film at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. The film, to quote more than a few students, "was awesome ... and you should see it!"
On Tuesday, they rolled up their sleeves at the North Texas Food Bank, assembling, in their words, "serious amounts of food" (see above tally) as they carried on one of Yavneh's most cherished traditions: that of Chesed and Tikkun Olam (which

most schools call Community Service).
We celebrated Hoshana Rabbah together today, and are all looking forward to Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah!
Chag Sameach, Shabbat Shalom and Go Bulldogs!
