Cultural Ferry Trip: Martha's Vineyard 
QUICK TAKE: Dramatic
beaches, charming towns, and a distinct island-style arts and cultural scene. SEE & DO: Salute the start of summer at the Summer Solstice Celebration or the Oak Bluffs Harbor Festival. Turn back the clock five decades at the new exhibit Sea Change: Martha's Vineyard in the 1960s. The Vineyard Playhouse opens with The Whaleship Essex, an "epic tale of survival." Explore the Vineyard's maritime heritage by climbing the Edgartown, East Chop, and Gay Head lighthouses. All things flora and fauna: The Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and the Polly Hill Arboretum. EAT & SLEEP: Pick up fresh-cooked lobsters and mussels at Larsen's Fish Market in Meneshma and dine on the beach. Sleep tight at Isabelle's Beach House in Oak Bluffs.

The 59th Annual South Shore Arts Festival is set for June 13-15 in Cohasset! The Arts Festival is held outdoors on Cohasset Common, rain or shine, just a short walk from South Shore Art Center.

Southeastern Massachusetts

Get down to the State Pier in New Bedford for the 3rd annual New Bedford Jazz Festival on June 14th, from 2pm-7pm. This high energy event showcases the SouthCoast jazz scene, featuring The Monteirobots, the SouthCoast Jazz Orchestra, and more. Later in the month, from June 28th - July 6th the Charles W. Morgan - the last of an American whaling fleet- will stop at New Bedford Harbor during its final voyage at sea. Check out all the happenings at destinationnewbedford.org! The Unknown Hopper: Edward Hopper as Illustrator is on display June 7th through October 26th at Norman Rockwell Museum! The Museum will present the early work of two remarkable artists side by side, offering a rare glimpse into their formative years before they embarked on divergent paths as painters. The exhibit will offer a comprehensive study of realist master Edward Hopper's nearly 20-year career as an illustrator, featuring more than 50 original drawings and paintings by the artist. Greater Merrimack Valley
Check out our corner of Massachusetts, the Greater Merrimack Valley!  Kick off Summer Solstice with Ziggy Marley at the Lowell Summer Music Series, and help celebrate 25 years of music and culture under the stars at Boarding House Park. If you are a classic or vintage car enthusiast, Lowell is the place to be June 21st, for the Great Race. Central Massachusetts

For the seventh year running, Paulie's New Orleans Jazz & Blues Festival is happening in Worcester's historical Canal District beginning on June 20th! Enjoy three days of Louisiana Jazz, blues, country and funk. This festival is as authentic a New Orleans music festival will get in the Northeast, including food, refreshments, and of course, live music! Little Freddie King and Marcia Ball are just two names in the big lineup that this festival has to offer. Find more information on Central Massachusetts.
Franklin County

First Friday in Greenfield will be held June 6th! "Gotta Bee Downtown" will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Prizes, retail open houses, music and good food. RiverFest in Shelburne Falls is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7th, rain or shine. Food, face painting, parade and fun for all ages! Third Thursday in Turners Falls is June 19th. Greater Boston

The summer season kicks off with outdoor festivals celebrating the arts at Cambridge River Festival, inclusivity and equality during Boston Pride Week and a colorful regatta on the Charles River at the 35th Dragon Boat Festival! Indulge at the 32nd Scooper Bowl, where all proceeds benefit the Jimmy Fund. Outdoor concerts can be enjoyed throughout the city, from the Courtyards at the MFA or BPL to the waterside Blue Hills Bank Pavilion and Fenway Park.  Pack a picnic supper and head out for a movie under the stars at the Boston Harbor Hotel or the Hatch Shell. Cape Cod
Celebrate the first day of summer at the 6th Annual Cape Cod Quahog Day! Watch Doug the Quahog make his annual prediction for how many weeks of beach weather lie ahead at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21st at the Hy-Line Cruises' dock in Onset Pier, on the Cape Cod Canal. A Cape Cod tradition! Also in June, over 300 classic cars will be on display Sunday, June 15th at the annual Father's Day Auto Show in Hyannis, and the annual Provincetown International Film Festival is set for June 18-22! Greater Springfield

The live performance scene in Springfield kicks into full gear in June with a variety of live performances to satisfy any taste!  On June 13th, Jerry Seinfeld makes a return to Springfield's Symphony Hall performing his signature stand-up routine. Next up is the Worthy Craft Beer Showcase on June 21st along Springfield's Worthington Street Entertainment District. This annual event highlights the craft beer scene and features a full slate of outdoor musical entertainment. Then on June 26th, the Stearns Square Concert Series kicks-off with Black 47.  The series features musical acts every Thursday through August! Find more information on Greater Springfield

Hampshire County
Get ready for one of the biggest cultural celebrations Western Mass. has ever seen! On Saturday, June 14th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., a portion of the Cottage Street Cultural District will be closed to traffic for the first Cultural Chaos Block Party. A street festival with a twist, Cultural Chaos features open studios, live music, a maker's market, and cuisine from Easthampton's finest. Johnny Appleseed Country
Local artists are in the spotlight in Johnny Appleseed Country! You won't want to miss the 79th Annual Exhibition of Art and Craft at the Fitchburg Art Museum, a juried show that has attracted summer crowds for decades. Be sure to vote for your favorite piece for the "People's Choice" award! Nearby you'll find Rollstone Studios' exhibition of acrylic and mixed media by Sally Sargent. Martha's Vineyard

Tony Award winning theatre returns for its 60th season at The Williamstown Theatre Festival this year from July 2nd through August 17th! This year's main stage plays: June Moon from July 2-13, Living On Love from July 16-26, The Visit from July 31-August 17, Nikos Stage: A Great Wilderness from July 9-20, Fool For Love from July 23-August 2, and The Old Man & The Moon from August 6-17. MetroWest

Give Dad a car for Father's Day. In fact, give him a day to be amidst the rarest collection of classic automobiles and vintage military aircraft in the US! They're all part of an exquisite, interactive weekend, American Elegance: Wings & Wheels at the Collings Foundation in Stow June 14-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Al Capone and his 1940 Cadillac will be there too, along with a special performance at noon on both days. $15 adults, $10 aged 12 and younger. The Nantucket Book Festival will be held June 20-22! A series of brilliant writers and presenters will be hosted at The Atheneum Great Hall, Unitarian Meeting House and several restaurants. 
Authors and presenters from a variety of genres will speak in these beautiful & historic venues throughout the weekend. North of Boston

Step into a world of beautiful paintings, intricate jewelry, delicate pottery and everything in between and take a rare look into a world of inspiration and creativity as you navigate through the studios of the Cape Ann Artisans. On June 21-22, the Artisans will be having their bi-annual open studio tour and invite everyone to explore their studios, watch them work and create, and delve into the vibrant arts community of Gloucester and Rockport.
