Celebrate one of the most painted and photographed buildings in America on Motif #1 Day! (May 17th)! Given its name at the turn of the century, this famous red fishing shack has inspired artists for over a century. From family activities to a 5k race, Motif #1 Day has something for everyone! Enjoy scavenger hunts, youth art shows, savory food, great music, dance (the theatrical aerial dance group, Fight of Flight Theatre will be making an appearance!), and film. Try your hand at sidewalk chalk art or making your own music at the Instrument Petting Zoo (presented by Rockport Music). The North River Arts Society's 38th Annual Festival of the Arts will be held Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th! A celebration of regional and community creativity and diversity and a street fair offering art and photography exhibits, a fair and street party, and a marketplace for artists and artisans. Special entertainment and activities are planned for families and children of all ages. The Dedee Shattuck Gallery in Westport is presenting Apophenia from May 1st through June 1st! This is a solo exhibition focusing on four recent series of works by renowned digital artist and animator, Harvey Goldman. |  The Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton is now hosting The Tsars' Cabinet, which highlights 200 years of decorative arts under the Romanovs, from the time of Peter the Great in the early eighteenth century to that of Nicholas II in the early twentieth century.
