 Celebrate Spring's Arrival...."Daffy Style"! The Nantucket Island Chamber-sponsored Daffodil Festival (April 25-27) in its 40th year, is a full scale jubilee of winter's thaw featuring an Antique Car Parade, Tailgate Picnic and Children's Beach Family Picnic, as well as a Daffy Hat, Dog and Children's Parades. It's a joyous occasion for both islanders and visitors alike. Other festivals highlights include the Nantucket Garden Club's Annual Daffodil Show and a Daffodil 5k Race. Or pick up your scavenger Hunt brochures, get a team together, and take part in the family-friendly scavenger hunt. Three lucky teams will be eligible to win 40th Annual Daffodil merchandise! After three years of planning and renovations, the Greater Plymouth Performing Arts Center, Inc., a non-profit supporting the region's performing arts community, announces the Gala Grand Opening Events Series! A two-month long celebration begins with a Community Open House at the Spire Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, April 5th. The Spire's performance hall and a custom built stage boasts tremendous acoustics, sightlines, and an architecturally beautiful interior as its trademark. Find more information on Plymouth County.

Prepare for an explosion of color! The Trescott Street Gallery in Taunton is hosting a full on collaboration of art and design during its Art in Bloom exhibition. The opening reception begins on April 4th from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and runs through May. The Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony will be playing at Wheaton College in Norton on Friday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. Conducted by Assistant Professor of Music Earl Raney, the ensemble will perform spring pops and more. |  Get a taste of chamber music spiced with paprika at MAGYAR!, the Close Encounters concert on Sunday, April 27th at 3 p.m. at the Mahaiwe in Great Barrington with virtuosos on clarinet, violin, piano, cello and cimbalom - the Hungarian folk hammered dulcimer. And celebrate Verdi's birthday with a film and talk on April 6th at the historic Lenox Club ("Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Verdi"). Beginning on April 19th, the towns of Lexington and Concord will present their annual Patriots' Day celebrations! Tour the historic Munroe and Buckman Taverns in Lexington, see the gathering of the militia at Concord's Old North Bridge, and be sure not to miss the famous Battle Re-enactment at 6 am on the Lexington Green on Monday, April 21st, all complete with period costumes and weaponry. | |  Each winter, especially this year, EVERYONE looks forward to Boston's annual rites of spring. Beginning with budding tulips and daffodils, the Swan Boats return to the Public Garden. The Red Sox's home opener is April 4th. The oom-pa-pa of carousels can be heard beginning April 11th on both The Greenway and at Boston Common. On April 15th, a Tribute will be held to mark the one year anniversary of the 2013 Marathon, showing the world that Boston's spirit of resiliency lives on.
