The Inequality Project
The School of Communication and Media kicked off its year long Inequality Project with a September 24 colloquium featuring documentary filmmaker Dawn Porter, whose work tackles major social issues that include the criminal justice system and the history of segregation in the south.

As part of the series, on Wednesday, October 9, SCM will present a panel on "Race, Power and Sports." Scheduled panelists include Filip Bondy, sports columnist for the New York Daily News, Mike Freeman, NFL columnist for Bleacher Report.com, and Clemson Smith Muniz, spanish language announcer for the NY Knicks and MLB Network.  The event will take place at the Yogi Berra Museum.  Those interested in attending should contact Berra Museum Director Dave Kaplan at [email protected].

In addition to colloquium events, students, faculty, and staff within the School will unite with local project partners to address the issue of inequality through their coursework. At the conclusion of the academic year, a final presentation will showcase the year's work on The Inequality Project.
