Updates from the Office of Research Development (ORD)
President's Office Awards
aim to catalyze research collaborations among UMass campuses and industry partners to create economic impact.

Science and Technology (S&T) awards are appropriate for well-established faculty seeking to attract major R&D funding.  Annual funding ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 for cross-campus collaborations.

Creative Economy awards focus on cultural activities in the arts and humanities, social development and public policy or other projects that impact quality of life.  Community participation is a requirement. One year grants range from $10,000 to $30,000.

Two-page concept papers for both projects are due January 27, 2017 and may be submitted through the new Research Development Grant Portal.

New Research Development Grant Portal
In 2017 internal and limited submission programs will be advertised, applied for and reviewed in a new Research Development Grant Portal.  The new portal streamlines and consolidates the current system of announcements, e-mails and spreadsheets.   The online Portal is linked to the SPA and ORD websites and may be accessed from any computer using your UMDAR sign on.  User feedback is welcomed.
