Annual New Jersey Healthcare Survey: Message from Brach Eichler
Currently in its 5th year, the 2016 New Jersey Health Care Monitor has become an important barometer for the state of the practice of medicine in New Jersey. Brach Eichler conducts the statewide annual survey among physicians, including solo practitioners, members of a group practice and employees of health care facilities, to collect valuable information on current trends and an outlook for the practice of medicine for the year ahead. Please respond by July 15th. Your participation is greatly valued as we continue to "take the pulse" of the healthcare community. To thank you for your time in completing this brief survey, all participants will be entered into a raffle to win an Apple iPad Air 2! Please provide your email address at the end of the survey, so we may contact you if you're the winner. Take the survey!

MACRA Compliance Help for Physicians
The New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) and the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute have entered into a partnership to help doctors and other providers prepare for far-reaching changes in health care delivery and payment. The Quality Institute and NJII are working to provide New Jersey doctors and other providers with the tools and strategies they need as Medicare moves away from fee-for-service payments and toward value-based care, at no cost to them. The Quality Institute will support NJII's work as one of the nation's 29 Practice Transformation Networks, which are part of Medicare's Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative - one of the largest federal investments to support doctors and other providers in all 50 states through collaborative and peer-based learning networks. For more information about the Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative or to sign up for free Practice Transformation Network benefits please email Tyla Housman at thousman@njhcqi.org or visit their website.

New Physician Office-Based Labs Reporting Requirement
Under a new CMS regulation, some physician office-based labs will be required to report private-payer payment rates and the associated volumes of tests performed within a physician office-based lab. Labs will be required to report this information to CMS once every three years starting January 1. The AMA encourages all physician office-based labs to begin to prepare for reporting now as the initial reporting period will require retrospective reporting on data collected during the first six months of 2016. Read AMA's summary of the reporting requirements.

MOC Update
MSNJ continues its successful advocacy to push back on MOC requirements. As previously reported, under pressure by organized medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine suspended certain elements of its MOC program and promised more flexibility to demonstrate medical knowledge through ACCME-approved continuing medical education. Read about our collaboration with medical societies during a MOC Summit hosted by the Pennsylvania Medical Society. MSNJ is also working on legislation to prohibit MOC requirements for licensure.
