Elizabeth City Convention & Visitors Bureau Re-launches Website with Stylish Look, Trip Planning Features and Bevy of Things to Do

The Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (ECACVB) has re-launched its website with a lively new look, trip planning features and calendar listings brimming with things to do. DiscoverElizabethCity.com is designed to aide both visitors and residents, while providing an overview of the region's attractions, events and visitor-oriented businesses.

"We're in the business of hospitality, and helping visitors and residents find the information they need quickly and easily is a top priority. To that end, DiscoverElizabethCity.com really delivers," said ECACVB Director Charlotte Underwood. "This is truly an interactive site with all the resources you need, whether you are planning a weekend getaway or looking for a fun way to celebrate Saturday night here at home."

The colorful, user-friendly site uses beautiful photography of Elizabeth City area's key offerings: its waterfront setting, hometown feel, history of hospitality and unique array of attractions and activities. Site features include:

  • A "Featured Fun" slideshow on the homepage that promotes Elizabeth City's signature sites, including the Museum of the Albemarle, Port Discover, Arts of Albemarle and others.
  • An upcoming events area on the home page and internal pages, showcasing upcoming activities around town, and linking back to a full-featured events calendar.
  • Detailed lodging, restaurant and shopping information.
  • The "View from the Harbor" blog, written by a collective of local writers who provide an insider's view of life in Elizabeth City.
  • A "Meetings and Celebrations" section to help meeting and wedding planners.
  • An expanded "Things to Do" section with everything from boating info to special themed tours.
  • Corresponding mapping capabilities of all listings.
  • Current weather and Harbor Cam live postings.

The new website is a strategic platform for Elizabeth City's marketing promotion for the future, which also

includes fall and spring "Discover EC" co-op campaigns and a public relations campaign. "The website is our central and most important marketing tool," said Underwood. "Take a look and let us know what you think."
