Rope for Hope is This Weekend!

Dan Carlton's Rope for Hope Road Trip
Last year, Ottawa resident Dan Carlton biked 500km to attend Make-A-Wish ® Canada's Rope for Hope event in Toronto. Through his bike ride and rappel, Dan raised an incredible $8,000 in support of magical wishes. This Saturday, we'll be holding our own Rope for Hope rappelling event where brave and dedicated local fundraisers like Dan will rappel from the Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa East to help grant wishes for children in Eastern Ontario. Each rappeller must raise at least $1,500 to participate. Please join us at Rope for Hope and our on site Friends and Family Fun Day for a day of thrills, fun, and to cheer on our brave rappellers! 500th Wish Granted!
Danyk, 17, has a life- threatening lung disease as well as diabetes and Asperger's.
He loves planes and wished to be a VIP at the Hamilton Air Show.
Danyk enjoyed a spectacular view of Niagara Falls from his private flight to the show, and even got to help steer the plane.
Later, he went on a private tour at the Canadian Aviation Museum for an up close look at his favourite plane, the Lancaster.
Thank you to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Nelson Alcalde, Paula Canapini and David Baker for making this milestone wish a reality. |
Abby's Sweet Success
Abby suffers from a rare condition called Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome and at six years old she got her wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort.
Inspired by her wish experience, Abby decided to help other kids have their wishes granted.
Abby, now 12, recently held a special cupcake sale to benefit Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario.
With her mom Tess by her side, Abby put on a great event and raised $1,063.70 in support of magical wishes.
