Greetings!

As the 2013 season draws to a close, we have a flurry of activity to keep us in memories for the long winter ahead.

As you may know, while some of you have been gadding about representing the Club in Germany and Guernsey, I have been welcoming my first grandchild to the world, as well as representing the Club nearer to home.

Diana and I ran a session at Stratton on the Fosse Village Day, and I attended the International Older Person's Day at St John's Hospital, where I talked pétanque with lots of visitors, including Don Foster MP.

Our teams are still battling it out in the Brunel League and we had a spectacular finals night and dinner for the Thursday Boules League.

Our big news is, of course, our project to build a large terrain at Larkhall Sports Club with the use of their clubhouse.  Many thanks to those of you who came to the Club on 12th September, your input has been very useful, and your committee is now getting on with detailed talks with the LSC and with raising the necessary funds.

You will see from the calendar on the left that we have quite a few events coming up - a mêlée in Queen Square, the Club Dinner and the AGM among them.  I look forward to seeing you at these, so do sign up and come along!

Club Dinner
By Chris McGinn

The Club is holding its annual Dinner at the Market Public House on Friday 8 November, 7pm for 7.30pm. The Market is centrally situated opposite the Theatre Royal. The venue would be for our exclusive use and is interesting, as it is on various levels, but all Diners would be together.

This will be the last formal event of the season and with the exciting reality of a new headquarters at Larkhall FC, the future looks very rosy. The Committee will be delighted to see as many members and friends as possible.

attach a Menu, which is £18 for 3 courses and £14 for two courses. I propose to add on £1 for people having two courses and £1.50 for those having three courses. This extra money, will be used for Staff gratuities.

Entertainment will be provided by the 'Bristol Shantymen',who should give us a fitting finale to the evening.

Please complete and return the attached form, with which you can express your menu choices, together with your payment to cover. Cheques should be made payable to 'Rosh Ltd' .Please send the application form and payment to me at the following address. Orders must be with me, by 31st October. Thank you.
