For those of you who have not been in the office recently,
we are currently running our
5th Annual
Small Steps to Success Campaign
The Upper Cervical Research Foundation ( UCRF)
has been supporting NUCCA Research since 1971.
Your support of this campaign over the last 5 years has helped fund several research projects that are currently underway.
These projects are leading to some groundbreaking new
findings including the results of the chronic migraine headache study we are now completing in Calgary.
In this study, we are utilizing a dynamic cardiac gated, phase contrast MRI technology that is revealing a physiological mechanism that occurs in the upper cervical spine and cranio-cervical junction when the Atlas misalignment is present. We are now finally able to explain more clearly what we have observed in our NUCCA clinical practices for over 70 years. This patho-physiologic mechanism related to the Atlas Subluxation Complex Syndrome is also pointing us in new directions of further study.
As has been the case in other research efforts, as we now gain a deeper understanding of these physiological mechanisms, other questions arise that need to be explored. |
