Together to Transform

We have a rich history at Converge Southwest.
In 1884 Gustav Liljeroth, having recently moved West to San Francisco to pursue his passion of working together with God and one another, dared to imagine what God could do through committed believers and churches working together. This was an extraordinary vision because not one church existed at that time. This is our beginning, our DNA, and 114 years later, remains our VISION.
We are still making history today! The last five years have seen the greatest number of new churches and new disciples of any five year period in our history. I am proud to serve churches, leaders and believers who remain committed to working together with God and one another in starting and strengthening churches as we continue to advance the Great Commission. We remain, "Together to Transform."

Dr. Bill Ankerberg was our guest speaker during the Converge Southwest Biennial Gathering on March 6. Serving as Senior Pastor of Whittier Area Community Church since 1996, embracing the mission statement: Follow God + Love People, Dr. Bill encouraged us that "the only thing that really matters in life are your relationships to other people." (Joshua Wolf Shenk) He went on to share, "what counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation." (from Galatians 6) Dr. Bill's inspiring talk was the cohesive finale on our theme, "Together to Transform".

"What if...?" was the question that led Converge Southwest leaders and churches to inaugurate Vision Arizona 16 years ago. It is still the driving question that now motivates CSW to launch "Vision Texas." The first weekend in May, Bruce and Kym Sumner will lead the team of Randy Deal and Josh Barrett (Vision Arizona) along with Brad Wilkerson (Church of Celebration Metro) and Troy Wolfe (Movement Church) in Dallas/Ft. Worth to launch Vision Texas! Joining these leaders and wives will be the new pastors and wives who are committed to church planting in the great state of Texas. "What if..." Gustav Liljeroth hadn't taken a risk 114 years ago? "What if..." we hadn't launched Vision Arizona 16 years ago? Now, "What if..." we launch Vision Texas? We believe we will see God continue to multiply movements of spiritual reproduction that see amazing numbers of people come to Christ.

CONVERGE SOUTHWEST MINISTRY MILESTONES

Revolution Church is scheduled to launch in McKinney, TX, later this year, yet they have already experienced a significant event! Pastor Randy Moore invited the community to a pre-Easter fun family day in the park and over 200 people attended. God is clearly at work!  |
Legacy Church in La Mesa,
CA, led by Curt Gruber and
co-pastored by Todd Molter,
recently celebrated its 5-year
anniversary.
A huge life-marker took place on April 21 as Trinity Baptist Church in Indio, CA, pastored by Dave Gordon, celebrated
65 years.

Rock Point Church in Queen Creek, AZ celebrated the grand opening of their new
building on Sunday, April 21 with over 2,000 in attendance during their services. Pastor Bill Bush and the Rock Point Church family are expressing praise and gratitude to God!
