With the golf season well underway, it's important for pedestrians and cyclists to be cautious when traveling through local courses and to stay on the RA pathways to reduce the chances of getting hit by a ball.

triaReston Relay Triathlon
Sunday, June 26
7-11 a.m.
Note: Lake Newport Pool will open at 12 p.m. Sunday. The parking lot to the pool will be closed Saturday for set-up, so pool patrons may park on North Village Road and Lake Newport Road.  On race day Lake Newport Road will be closed between North Village Road and Reston Parkway.

Join Reston Association for a trip to Old Town Alexandria where we will tour the Torpedo Factory Art Center and window shop near the water. Butterfly Count
Saturday, July 9: 9:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Free.

Class and count will meet at the Walker Nature Center, 11450 Glade Drive
Adults.
 
Learn the basic identification and life cycles of our local butterflies at the Butterfly Class. Then join staff and volunteers for the annual Butterfly Count through Reston's natural areas. Meet fellow butterfly lovers, learn tips on identification and have fun while helping to collect important information on our fluttering friends. Reservations required by July 5. Saturday, Sept. 10 (rain date, Sept. 11)
8:30 a.m.-noon
12000 Sunrise Valley Drive (across the street from Reston Association).
$30/RA members, booth space.
$40/Non-members, booth space.

Ninety-five families will be selling a variety of items so this event is a great opportunity to find things for a new home or a college dorm. Sign-up to have a booth or stop by to browse for great bargains. Booth space is the equivalent of two parking spaces. Tables are not provided. Space is limited. Vendors must preregister with payment to secure space. All sales are final. No refunds unless canceled due to rain. Contact Ashleigh@reston.org or call 703-435-6577 for more information.

garlic mustard Remove the bush honeysuckle and garlic mustard surrounding the Sunrise Valley Recreation Area. These invasive plants have taken over the field edge and hidden the natural beauty of our woods. Meet along Oldfield Drive. The entrance steps to the play area are adjacent to 10805 Oldfield Drive.
