New Lifejacket Policy
|
Reston Association has a new policy aimed to improve safety for children using association pools this summer. RA permits U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets only. Inflatable water wings, inner tubes and foam bathing suit inserts are prohibited. Lifejackets are available at each pool and may be checked out from RA pool employees. Birds have developed a wide variety of beak types to eat different types of food. What type works best for finding grubs in a tree or cracking open nuts? What about eating fish? Experiment with these useful adaptations yourself.

School's almost out, and it's time to explore new territory. Make a walking stick that can travel with you on your next hike. Choose the perfect stick, make a leather grip, and with help, engrave your name or initials to make it your own. All supplies included.

RA's volunteer program consists of members in our community working in a variety of capacities. Volunteers are RA's strongest line of communication with the community. Each year a diverse group of RA members donates thousands of hours to the association. Through their dedication, we are able to provide a wide range of high-quality programs, services and events that make Reston a great place to Live, Work, Play and Get Involved.

Reston Association is seeking volunteers to serve on its Pedestrian Lighting Working Group. The group will prioritize and study community lighting needs and report its findings to the Board of Directors by November. The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for June 29 at RA headquarters. For more information, email Sabrina Tadele.
