Reston Recovering From Storm
|
Last weekend's blizzard has kept Reston Association and VDOT crews busy clearing pathways and roads. Residents are also doing their part to dig out from the historic snowfall. The storm dumped over two feet of snow in Reston and surrounding areas. RA Central Services Facility staff has been working to keep the association's 55 miles of pathways passable. RA is also clearing portions of Fairfax County-owned trails as part of a newly ratified agreement between the county and RA. To read more about RA's snow-removal policies, click here. As VDOT workers clear our streets, they have also created large snow banks on Reston paths. With four bombardiers, one Bobcat and one loader, RA staff continues to break through the curb cuts. This work will continue into next week. Residents are also encouraged to help remove snow mounds in areas (like the one pictured here) in order to clear spots for school children and adults who use public transportation You can contact the association at the phone numbers and email addresses listed here. RA offices have resumed regular hours after having been closed earlier this week due to the aftermath of the storm.
