Nature House Closed Oct. 23-25
houseThe Nature House at the Walker Nature Center will be closed Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 due to its annual Halloween House and Trick-or-Treat Trail event. All tickets to the event are sold out. Adults and teens interested in volunteering should contact habrock@reston.org about remaining open positions.
algaeAlgae Bloom at Lake Audubon
Due to last week's rain and warm weather, a blue-green algae bloom has formed on Lake Audubon. With cooler and cloudier conditions, the bloom will eventually dissipate. Click here for more information.

As part of National NeighborWoods Month, volunteers in Reston will pull invasive shrubs at the Sunrise Valley Recreation Area. Volunteers will also plant trees and shrubs at the site. Click here to volunteer.
