Lake Thoreau Pipe to be Replaced
Fairfax County contractors will replace a sewer pipe in the West Cove area of Lake Thoreau. Jennifer Arias, Engineering Technician for Fairfax County DPWES-Capital Facilities, said the project should be completed by mid-September. Click here to read more.

Parents, drop off your child for a morning jam-packed with outdoor fun. Kids will discover the world of invertebrates. They will search for aquatic invertebrates in a stream, explore the life cycle of insects through a geocache trail and finish with a campfire.

Start the Labor Day weekend with a relaxing stroll through nature. Ramble through a stream valley in search of animals getting ready to turn in for the night and try to catch a glimpse of nocturnal creatures waking up. Enjoy the color change over Lake Audubon as the sun sets and watch for bats circling above the water.
