bikesafeBike-Pedestrian Safety Survey

A bicycle-pedestrian safety assessment took place earlier this month near the Wiehle-Reston East Station on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority's Silver Line.  It was one of 52 Department of Transportation-led surveys of conditions for pedestrians and cyclists taking place this year.

The Reston assessment focused on access to the Metro station. A team of federal, state, and local transportation staff and community members evaluated safety and accessibility issues at bus stops, the rail station, parking lots, crosswalks, traffic signals, street frontages and sidewalks.
