RA Files Appeal in Circuit Court
|
Reston Association has filed an appeal of the decision made by the Fairfax County Board of Zoning appeals regarding Reston National Golf Course. The appeal, submitted last week in Fairfax County Circuit Court, challenges the BZA's April 15, 2015 ruling that overturned the Zoning Administrator's earlier decision related to the course and the Comprehensive Plan.
In overturning the administrator's 2012 decision, the BZA said an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan was not a pre-requisite for filing development applications for the golf course property.
Owners of the golf course property want to redevelop the land and build residential housing. RA, along with grassroots organizations such as Rescue Reston, wants to protect the 166 acres of open space from unwanted development.Click here to read more.
