Reston Station The new Silver Line will provide transportation from Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. The first phase of the Silver Line opened on July 26, 2014. Click here for more information on the Silver Line and the Wiehle-Reston East station.

Watch Reston Today Video

This month's Reston Today video features a segment on the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals hearing about the Reston National Golf Course. RA CEO, Cate Fulkerson, as well as many community members, appeared before the zoning board, speaking in support of preserving the golf course and open space. The hearing took place on Jan. 21. A decision from the appeals board has been delayed until April 15. Click here for more information on the golf course issue. Special Board Meeting

Home Maintenance Workshop

Thursday, Feb. 12 (snow date: Feb. 19) 6:30 p.m. Reston Association, 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive. Show your house some love this February by attending a home maintenance workshop. A bit of TLC can go a long way in preventing large-scale projects and restorations. Erik Major of HB Services will go over tips and to-do lists to help keep your home in tip-top shape. Parents' Night Out

Email naturecenter@reston.org or call 703-476-9689. Parents, get a headstart on your Valentine's Day celebration while your children have a fun-filled night at the nature center. Kids will play nature games and go on a night hike (weather permitting). They'll have a red-themed snack and will finish the night watching classic cartoons, starring our favorite animal characters. Drop off begins at 6:45 p.m.

Worm composting is a natural method of recycling food waste that is simple and odor free. See an established bin and make one to take home.
