Reston's paths are one of the community's greatest joys. Set as your goal to explore all 55 miles of paved and natural surface pathways winding throughout Reston's open spaces. RNGC Zoning Appeal to Proceed
|
The Reston National Golf Course owner has requested that the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals proceed with scheduling an appeal related to a 2012 decision by the county that the restricted the golf course land from being used for residential development.
The owner of the golf course had indefinitely deferred a decision on whether to appeal the county's ruling. The new date for the appeal is Jan. 21, 2015. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. Reston Association remains opposed to the golf course land being redeveloped for residential use and has stated that Reston is a "golf course community." RA's Board President Ken Knueven said that "members have long supported the two golf courses within Reston. It is RA's stance that these golf courses are integral to the active lifestyle of its members and furthers the Reston lifestyle 'live, work, play and get involved.'"

Common Area Inspections
|
Reston Association's environmental resource staff will be conducting inspections for violations of the Common Area Rules, hazardous trees, invasive plants and fences during inspections of the natural areas.
In the coming weeks, RA inspectors will begin in south Reston and work their way through the woods to north Reston. Signs at neighborhood entrances will indicate when RA staff will be inspecting common areas.
Violations of the Common Area Rules may include dumping of yard debris -- such as leaves, branches and grass clippings -- as well as clearing and maintaining the open space as your own yard. (Note: RA markers like the one pictured to the left indicate property lines.) If you are in violation, RA staff will send you a notice of violation, which includes a deadline for resolving the problem.
RA appreciates your support in helping to keep the common area as native wildlife habitat. If you have questions or concerns, please call 703-437-7658 or email csfstaff@reston.org.
