RESTON ASSOCIATION
Board of Directors

Reston's paths are one of the community's greatest joys. Set as your goal to explore all 55 miles of paved and natural surface pathways winding throughout Reston's open spaces. Not only do these paths provide a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, they also connect neighborhoods, recreation areas and shopping centers.

IN THE NEWS: Updates and Announcements
NorthPointRA Seeks North Point Candidates

The Reston Association Board of Directors is seeking to fill the vacant North Point District Director seat. The term will expire in April 2015. RA members interested in applying for the seat must complete a Statement of Candidacy and submit it to the assistant secretary by July 21 at 5 p.m.

Tim Cohn, the previous North Point District Director, resigned his position on May 30 for personal reasons. His term was to expire in April 2016. However, the new board-appointed member will only serve until the new election is held next year. At that time, the North Point position will be placed on the ballot and the winner will serve out the term until 2016.

acAC Amendment Passed

The Reston Association Board of Directors voted to amend the Use and Maintenance Standards Resolution 15 regarding air-conditioning service in clusters at Lake Anne (see map). The unanimous vote came at last week's special board meeting.

The amendment allows for Lake Anne residents to apply for an exemption to the covenant, thereby allowing for the use of individual air-conditioning units under the terms of the resolution. Click here to read the resolution.

chokingPull English Ivy
Saturday, June 28
10 a.m.-Noon
2501 Reston Parkway.

Help restore Reston's natural areas by pulling English ivy. English ivy can choke and kill the beautiful trees that give our yards and neighborhoods shade and character. The plant can strangle trees, accelerate rot, attract mosquitoes and cause mature trees to fall down during storms.

We will meet at the Hunters Woods pool parking lot and walk down the trail to the site.
