Reston's paths are one of the community's greatest joys. Set as your goal to explore all 55 miles of paved and natural surface pathways winding throughout Reston's open spaces. Not only do these paths provide a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, they also connect neighborhoods, recreation areas and shopping centers.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is constructing a 23-mile extension of the Metrorail system, which will be operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority from East Falls Church to Washington Dulles International Airport. The extension will serve the Reston-Herndon area, the state's second largest employment concentration. It will provide a one-seat ride from Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. bestBest of Reston Winners
The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and Cornerstones announced the 2014 Best of Reston winners last week. Recipients of the community service awards will be honored at a ceremony on April 10 at the Hyatt Regency in Reston.

Reston Association's Chief Executive Officer, Cate Fulkerson, was one of the award winners. Fulkerson was lauded for her service to several community organizations including the Character Counts! Coalition. She chairs the annual Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's Ethics Day at South Lakes High School and is involved with various committees at the Reston Community Center.

As stated in a Reston chamber news release, "This year's awards event features three important Reston milestones -- Founder Robert E. Simon's 100th birthday, the 50th anniversary of Reston's founding in 1964 and the Best of Reston 2013-2014 campaign goal of raising $1 million to help Cornerstones double its stock of affordable housing to meet a critical need in the community."
