METRORAIL SILVER LINE

Reston Station The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is constructing a 23-mile extension of the Metrorail system, which will be operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority from East Falls Church to Washington Dulles International Airport. The extension will serve the Reston-Herndon area, the state's second largest employment concentration. It will provide a one-seat ride from Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. Tour de Lights
| Saturday, Dec. 21 4:30 p.m. Ride starts at Lake Anne parking lot.
The Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee is organizing a one-hour bike ride through north Reston. Bicyclists must have front and rear lights. New Year's Day 5K

Winter Bird Count
| Saturday, Jan. 4 7 a.m.-noon. Free. Walker Nature Center, 11450 Glade Drive. Adults (Participants between 12 and 16 may participate with an adult.) Sign up by Jan. 2, 2014. Please call 703-476-9689 or e-mail naturecenter@reston.org. Meet local bird experts, learn tips on identification and have fun on our annual half-day bird count throughout Reston's natural areas. Enjoy a free lunch, tally results and swap stories at Nature House following the count.

Historic Trust Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Reston Historic Trust (owner and operator of the Reston Museum) will feature President Shelley Mastran's review of the past year's activities and finances. Light refreshments will be served and new board members elected.
