President's Perspective

There are three major characteristics that LaGrange County possesses that are key to a thriving woodworking industry: 1) the vast woodlands, providing an abundant supply of lumber, 2) the dependable workforce, and 3) the number of Amish woodcrafters that make their homes here.

Some of the companies that take advantage of the lumber supply are PalletOne of Indiana, Shipshewana Hardwoods, Wible Lumber, and Tri-State Hardwoods, offering a wide range of quality, wood products.

The Amish woodcrafters in LaGrange County continue to produce one-of-a-kind, quality wood products that often become family heirlooms due to the beauty and sophistication of their craftsmanship.

This industry will only continue to grow as consumers desire quality, locally crafted goods that are from a renewable and sustainable resource, and LaGrange County's woodworking industry works to meet that desire.
