NEW male Mexican grey wolf at the Zoo

In the Zoo's Wolf Woods, located in Rocky Mountain Wild, there is a new howl that can be heard. The Zoo welcomed nine-year old male wolf, Leopold, on November 19. He traveled from Calsbad, New Mexico to Colorado to be a new mate for Weeko, the Zoo's nine-year old female Mexican grey wolf.

Rescuing frogs in Panama
|
Dr. Della Garelle, Director of Field Conservation, recently traveled to Gamboa, Panama to assist our Panama Amphibian Rescue and Conservation (PARC) project partners in moving almost 500 frogs from holding pods located at Summit Zoo into new permanent isolation pods located at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. The move provides hope for the expansion of the program.
